The Waite Park Police Department has voter approved support to build a new public safety facility. The current target date for the completion of a new facility is 2026.
The 2023 hourly pay range for police officers is $32.47 - $43.60.
Waite Park Police Officers are under a collective bargaining agreement.
Shift differential pay of $0.70 per hour shall be paid for shift hours worked between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am.
Field Training Officers (FTO) shall be paid a shift differential of $1.75 per hour while performing FTO duties.
Officers who are assigned to the investigations unit shall be paid an additional $150 per month
Maximum vacation accumulation is equal to the number of hours earned in the preceding year, plus hours earned year to date. Example, in your second year of employment you could have 80 hours in your first year earned and an additional 80 from the second year for a total accumulation of 160 hours total.

For 2023 the city pays up to $1,175 for a employee single plan and up to $2,200 for an employee family plan. The monthly premium is paid and any remaining funds (up to the amount listed above) is placed into a Health Savings Account (HSA).
