Watering Ban Lifted
Doing Our Part to Protect Minnesota's Water Resources
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) announced that the State moved from the Drought Warning Phase to the Watch Phase, of the Statewide Drought Plan. The Watch Phase indicates that a significant portion of the watershed is “Abnormally Dry” or in a “Moderate Drought”.
The City of Waite Park will be lifting the watering ban effective immediately. We would like to thank our residents and businesses for their water conservation efforts before and during the drought period. The City has been able to maintain the reduced usage rates required by the MNDNR during the drought period because of their efforts; and therefore, preserved the City's drinking water supply.
Because we have not yet reached the “Non-Drought Phase”, the City would like to request our residents and businesses to continue to maintain voluntary measures to reduce water use.
