This 42.1-acre plot of land was donated to the City by the Burlington Northern Railroad Company in 1972. It was later developed into a handicap accessible park in 1999 and is located adjacent to the Sauk River at the corner of 3rd Street North and 10th Avenue North.
Splash Pad
Rivers Edge Park features a fabulous Splash Pad which will generally be open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend - weather permitting. The hours of operation are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Check out the 360-View of the Splash Pad and Playground area in the link above!
Pickleball Courts
There are six Pickleball courts available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the south side of Rivers Edge Park. Bring your own paddles and balls and enjoy the fun game of pickleball! More information about our pickleball courts is available here.
The city partnered with the National Fitness Campaign and local business sponsors to install an outdoor fitness court! It is located in Rivers Edge Park at the corner of 3rd Street North and 10th Avenue North. The fitness court is designed to allow all people to use it, since it is using your own body weight as resistance training and there are various levels of difficulty, based on your fitness level and goals. There are seven fitness elements to provide a full body workout: Core, Squat, Push, Lunge, Pull, Agility and Bend. 7 minutes - 7 movements to Change Your Health! Check out the National Fitness Campaign website for more information and workouts that can be tailored to your level of fitness.
A recently updated 12-Hole Disc Golf Course, with one practice hole, is also available at Rivers Edge Park! This course was completely revamped in 2018-2019 and has been described as a "destination course", which is used year-round! Off-street parking is available.
Winter recreation at Rivers Edge Park includes a hockey rink and a recreational skating rink with a warming house. The warming house is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM. Saturday from 1:00-8:00 PM (closed from 5:00-5:30 for a meal break). Closed Wednesday and Sunday.
Lights will be on at skating rinks only if the temperature is warmer than -5 degrees, or if wind chill is warmer than -18 degrees.
Lake Wobegon Bike & Walking Trail
River's Edge Park is home to the Lake Wobegon Trail Head. Park your vehicle in the parking lot and head to the trail for an adventure. There is no fee to park your vehicle.
Rivers Edge Park contains four baseball fields, three with dug-outs. There are also four softball fields, one with a dug-out. A batting cage, concession stand, picnic tables, restrooms and drinking fountains are available.
