In an effort to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our municipal workers and the community, the City of Waite Park will be closing public access to its city owned and operated facilities. This will be effective immediately and will be in effect until April 1, 2020. At that time, we will re-evaluate to determine whether public access can be restored or if continued closure is necessary.
Essential services will continue without interruption. Non-essential services will be limited to ensure the continual safety of our city employees. City employees will be available by telephone and email during this closure. City Hall will be closed to the public. This closure extends to all publicly accessible operations within those buildings, including the Senior Center, building permits, and administrative services.
This social isolation effort is designed to protect the health of our municipal workforce so that our emergency first responders can continue to provide mission-critical functions assuring that community members have ready access to 911 services for police and fire response. Further, we need to assure that operators for our municipal water supply, sanitary sewer, and infrastructure maintenance remain available and healthy to report for work.
Additional updates will be posted on the City of Waite Park website, our public access channel, and our city’s Facebook page. COVID-19 is a serious public health issue and it requires the public’s help to respond. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we focus our municipal resources on assuring continuity of operations for our core services.
